What Happened Today?
Monday Set-Ups:
Every Monday, Tom and Erin look at which charts are shaping up as "ones to watch" for the week, but to start, they reviewed last week's Monday Set-Ups "picks", ETSY for Erin and JD for Tom. As of show airing, ETSY was up 3% on the week and JD was up almost 4.5% on the week. Both of those picks outperformed the SPX! Today's Set-Ups for Erin, CDR at $5.84 and for Tom, LVS at $66.64. Tune next Monday to see how they did.
Earnings Spotlight: Tom likes to spot good earnings makers and then store them for a later trade. Today he looked at Stryker Corp (SYK). He liked the great reaction to the earnings report and has now pulled back nicely.
Ten in Ten Before One: In this regular segment, Tom reviews ten charts in ten minutes with Erin's comments and comments from the Twitter "peanut gallery" peppered in there. Send in your symbol requests via Twitter (@mktwatcherslive) before the show and we'll try and add them. Symbols reviewed today: REMX, BLUE, IBB, APC, APA, NUGT, LUV, DWDP, W and GM. DecisionPoint Report: On Monday Erin analyzes DP indicators to give us a heads up on the market conditions as we start the week. She also reviewed the "big four": Dollar, Oil, Gold & Bonds. Don't miss the DecisionPoint Weekly Wrap by Carl Swenlin on Saturday morning to get the scoop on market action the prior week and find out what the indicators are suggesting for the future. To tally up her positions: Neutral on the Market ST and IT. Bullish on the market in LT. UUP is bullish, Gold is bearish, Oil is bullish and Bonds are bullish.
