What Happened Today?
Monday Set-Ups:
Tom and Erin looked at charts that they see as "ones to watch" for the week, but to start, they reviewed last week's Monday Set-Ups "picks", GOOGL for Erin (small loss $1083.29 --> $1074.27) and GNRC for Tom (small loss $50.26 --> $48.51).
The Seasonality Report: Tom took time to review fourth quarter results of the SPX over 20 years on his spreadsheets and compared them to first quarter results. You'll want to watch this segment for that discussion!
Ten in Ten Before One: In this regular segment, Tom attempts to review ten charts in ten minutes. Send in your symbol requests via Twitter (@mktwatcherslive) before the show or using the live chat box during the LIVE program and we'll try and add them. We'll also check our email for symbol requests before the show (marketwatchers@stockcharts.com). DecisionPoint Report: On Monday Erin analyzes DP indicators to give us a heads up on the market conditions as we start the week. She also reviewed the "big four": Dollar, Oil, Gold & Bonds. Don't miss the DecisionPoint Weekly Wrap by Carl Swenlin on Saturday morning to get the scoop on market action the prior week and find out what the indicators are suggesting for the future. Today she concentrated on looking at weekly and monthly charts to understand and analyze expectations in the intermediate to long term.
It's a Wrap! In closing Tom and Erin revealed their thoughts on where the market might be heading before the next show. Tom was feeling more bullish than Erin who believes we'll see more sideways movement or possibly a decline.
