MarketWatchers LIVE is our mid-day web show for active technical traders. Hosted by Tom Bowley and Erin Wood, the show focuses on what the market is currently doing from a technical perspective. In addition, Tom and Erin will have educational segments, long-term outlooks and lively guest interviews on the show. MarketWatchers LIVE airs weekdays from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Eastern time.
We've made it very easy to tune in to the show, using the embedded Livestream Video Player on our site. No software installation is required; just go to the MarketWatchers LIVE page on our site and watch!
To access the MarketWatchers LIVE web show, click on the Webinars link at the top of any page. Then click on the green “Watch Now!” button in the MarketWatchers LIVE section.
Starting 15 minutes prior to the show, you will also see a red “On Air” banner in the upper right corner of the SharpCharts Workbench. You can click on this banner, then click the green “Watch Now!” button to tune in to the show.
The Livestream Video Player loads right in your web browser, and is fairly simple to use. When you mouse over the video screen while we are broadcasting, several controls will appear on the screen that allow you to adjust your video player settings.
In the bottom right corner, there is a button that allows you to go to full screen. If you want to increase the size of the player without entering full screen, you can do so by increasing the size of your browser window.
In the bottom left, there is a speaker icon that allows you to control the sound. Mouse over this icon and then move the slider bar to the right of the icon in order to increase or decrease the volume.
Clicking on the speaker icon will mute or unmute the sound. If the icon has an “X” on it, that means the speakers are muted.
The Livestream Video Player allows you to pause, play, rewind, and fast forward, just like a DVR.
While the video is playing, there will be a Pause icon in the bottom left of the screen. Click on this to toggle between play and pause. You can also move the slider bar above the icon in order to go forward and backward within the video.
If you have rewound to an earlier point of the video while the broadcast is still going, you can return to live content (what is being broadcast right now) by clicking the “Go to Live” icon that appears to the right of the pause/play icon. If you're viewing live content, it will say “LIVE” in the upper left corner, instead of “DVR”.
For complete instructions about using the Livestream DVR feature, click here.
To the right of the video screen, there is a panel used for chatting and polls. To ask questions during the show, make sure the Chat tab is selected at the top of the panel.
To ask questions or suggest ticker symbols to review is as simple as clicking the green “Ask” button at the bottom of the chat window, and typing in your question. If you've never asked a question on the show before, you will be prompted to enter your name before submitting questions.
Be aware that everyone else watching the broadcast can see your chat questions. Please be respectful and professional with your questions. StockCharts.com moderates each question, so it may take a few moments for your question to appear in the chat window.
In addition to the chat window, users can ask questions during the broadcast using Twitter. We monitor the MarketWatchers LIVE Twitter feed during the broadcast. Users can also contact us through our Facebook page or email, but these are not monitored during the show, so questions submitted through Facebook or email will not be addressed during the broadcast. Up above the chat window, you will see links to connect with us on Twitter, on Facebook, and via email.
After the webinar, we'd appreciate you taking a minute to fill out our one-question survey, giving us some feedback on that day's show. You can find a link to the survey below the video player.
We offer a recording of the latest edition of the show for a limited time. The recording will be made available from the Livestream Video Player within an hour of the show airing, and will remain available until the next edition of the show airs.
The recording can be accessed directly from the Livestream Video Player. Once the video has been posted, it can be accessed from the popup window on the right side of the video player screen. If for some reason the popup window is not displayed, it can be launched by mousing over the video screen and clicking the Event Posts icon in the top right corner.
Each MarketWatchers LIVE show is recapped in the MarketWatchers LIVE blog. You can access it from the MarketWatchers Blog link (pencil icon) above the chat window, or from our Blogs page.
