Have you noticed that your annotations move? Normally, you want your annotations to scroll to the left because that is what the price bars do. As the price bars move, you want your trendlines, arrows, and other annotations to move with them. However, there are certain kinds of annotations that you might not want to move - particularly “High Level” text comments, i.e., comments that describe what the chart is showing, not a specific feature of the current chart.
The good news is ChartNotes offers a feature called “pinning” and it allows you to prevent any of your saved annotations from scrolling to the left over time.
Before you can pin down the annotation you need to add the annotation to your chart. Once the annotation has been added, you will see an icon that looks like a pushpin appear in the horizontal menu at the top of the chart.
Click the Pin icon to pin down the annotation. The Pin icon will turn light blue so you know it is selected. That's all there is to it!
*If you have already created an annotation you wish to pin, click the “selection tool” and then click the annotation you want to pin. Yellow boxes will appear around the annotation and you can then click the Pin icon to pin it down.
