Has It Been Ten Years Already?

 |

Wow... Seems like only yesterday I was sitting in front of a computer screen wondering what I was going to do with this new domain name that I had just purchased. I remember thinking to myself:

"StockCharts.com! I guess I need to do something special with this domain."

Turns out that was ten years ago this month. Time flies when you're running a website.

Check out what our first announcement looked like:

And here's a sample screenshot of the homepage during that first frantic year:

(The gray areas contained charts that have been lost to the ages.)

Gotta love those colors - what were we thinking? :-)

Those were the days. If you've been around since the early days, feel free to drop me a line in the comments area below. I'd love to hear from you.

Here's a list of interesting milestones that we've hit along the way.

And here's to all the great years of charting that's to come!

Ten Years! congratulations Chip and all the Stockcharts team, excellent job and the new logo is great. It doesn't seem that long ago when I started direct online stock trading (& investing), at the height of the dot com bubble. My initiation was a trial by fire and I quickly became very interested in charts and TA. I found Stockcharts.com in late 1999 and began my never ending TA / chart learning experience. At that time it was a free site supported by banner ads and I remember a few trying days when the site would go down due to problems with third party ad servers. Much of what is on the site we take for granted, but it wasn't always here and I know it took alot of work and passion to create what we have today. In reviewing the Milestones page it brings back many memories of how Stockcharts has evolved and improved over such a short time. Chip you should be very proud of what you and your team have accomplished to date and I know there are great things being planned for the future. thanks guys, Gord Greer
